Credits & Billing

Overview

When generation runs on Loft's keys, it's billed against your credit balance. The header shows a credits chip; click it to open your wallet.

The Wallet

The credit audit modal shows:

  • Your current balance
  • Recent spend
  • A grant/spend statement from the authoritative credit ledger
  • Click any generation charge to open its queue item in the pane on the right — model, prompt, parameters, timing and outputs
  • A "Manage billing" button that opens the portal billing page

How credits work

Behind the scenes Loft stores real dollar costs and presents them as credits. Monthly plans grant credits into your ledger; each Loft-keys generation deducts from your balance. BYOK generations run on your own provider account and don't draw Loft credits.

Seats — who may create and generate

Credits are what your organization may spend; a seat is who may act. Each member holds at most one paid seat, assigned by the organization owner from the seats the organization has bought. Without a seat you can browse, view, comment and annotate, but not run generation — and you can create only one project.

A seat is a separate thing from a role. Being an admin, or even the owner, does not grant one: ownership says what you're allowed to do, a seat says what has been paid for. An owner who provisions the whole team and forgets to assign themselves a seat hits the same limits as anyone else.

"You need a seat to create a project"

Creating a project past the free allowance of one requires a paid seat. If you hit that message, the dialog tells you which case you're in:

  • Your organization has unassigned seats — nothing to buy. The owner assigns one to you on the organization page in the portal.
  • No seats are free — an owner can add one from Plans & Billing; anyone else needs to ask the owner.

The limit lifts as soon as the seat is assigned; nothing needs to be recreated.

Note: Credits are the header/wallet display; the Costing page shows the same spend broken down by service, asset, model, and month in dollars.
