_LOFT Resource › Reports_

## Overview

The Utilization Report shows how effectively your team's available capacity is being used. It compares planned or booked hours against total available hours to calculate utilization rates by person, department, or organization.

## Reading the Report

- Each row represents a person or group (depending on summary level)
- Columns show time periods (weekly or monthly)
- Values represent utilization percentage (booked hours / available hours)
- Color coding highlights under-utilized and over-utilized periods

## Date Navigation

Use the date navigator at the top to change the time range. You can view utilization on a weekly or monthly basis. Adjust the number of periods shown to zoom in or out on the data.

## Summary Levels

Use the Summary menu to aggregate data at different levels:

- By Project — See which projects are consuming the most capacity
- By Person — See individual workload and availability
- By Department/Division — See team-level utilization patterns

Tip: A healthy utilization rate is typically 75-85%. Rates above 90% may indicate risk of burnout, while rates below 60% suggest capacity that could be better utilized.
