# 0:45 · Review, Triage & Publish

_LOFTai › Your First Hour_

**Goal:** decide which take is good, and record that decision where the rest of the system can act on it. Ten minutes.

## Why this isn't just tidying

**Published** is a load-bearing word in Loft. When you publish a take, Editorial conforms cuts to it automatically, other assets can reference it, and it becomes the version downstream work sees. A folder full of unreviewed takes is inert; one published take is a decision the pipeline can act on. That's the whole reason to spend these ten minutes.

## Step 1 — Open File Detail

In your asset's Files, click a generated image. This opens **File Detail** — a full-screen review tool with the media in the center, a filmstrip of every file in the set below it, and a tabbed panel on the right.

## Step 2 — Triage without the mouse

This is the fastest thing in the app, and worth building the habit now. Navigate with the arrow keys, set status with the number keys:

`← / →`

Previous / next file

`1`

New

`2`

Selected — a candidate

`3`

Published — final

`4`

Dropped — rejected

`5`

Reference — an input, not a deliverable

`Enter`

Cycle to the next status

`F`

Toggle fullscreen

Walk your takes end to end: `4` the ones that missed,`2` the contenders, and `3` the one you'd actually deliver. Dropped files hide from the browser by default, so the library cleans itself up as you go.

Tip: Use the compare icon to split the viewer into A and B when a decision is close. Hover a filmstrip thumbnail and click its A or B half to load it there. Switch to the wipe layout and drag the divider back and forth across the two versions.

## Step 3 — Leave a note that sticks to a frame

On **video**, annotations are pinned to a specific frame. Use **+ Comment** to attach a note at the current frame, or **✎ Draw** to sketch an overlay that reappears whenever anyone scrubs back to it — a marker strip on the timeline shows where notes exist. On images, the viewer is a drawing canvas you can save an edit from.

Annotations are real, team-visible items on the asset, not throwaway UI state. Leave one now, even if you're the only person on this project.

## Step 4 — Send it to review

In the right-hand panel, open the **Submit** tab, choose which daily to **Submit to**, and add a short description. Your file joins that daily's **Submissions**, where the team watches, annotates, and leaves notes in one place. The same tab lists what you've submitted to, so you can unsubmit.

The other tabs are worth a look while you're here: **Notes**, **Context** (prompt, model, seed, and the role tags that affect how this image gets used in later generations), and **History**— the generation that produced this file and any that used it as an input, each with a regenerate button. The History tab beside an asset's Files lists only the generations whose outputs are in that file list.

## Checkpoint

- Exactly one of your takes is Published; the rest are Selected or Dropped.
- You triaged at least a few files using only the keyboard.
- One annotation or note exists on a file.
- A file appears in a daily's Submissions.
